Dear KindiePrep Parents,

November is here and Thanksgiving is right around the corner! My, how your children have grown and learned so much. I can't wait to see what the next couple months have in store for us! Here is what is happening this month.

Themes:

Thanksgiving and Veterans Day

Literacy:

We will be introducing letters Ii,Nn,Hh

Math:

We will be classifying and sorting data. We will also start representing, counting and writing numbers 6-9

Science:

Students will play with and learn about Force and motion and magnets

Works of Art:

This month we will be talking about the 14-year-old dancer and the old stagecoach

Nov 22- Dress of Choice

Nov 25-29th – Thanksgiving Break – No School

The Kids Had a great time at the Fall Festival Party! Thanks for all the fun games and treats.

December newsletter

Dear KindiePrep Parents,

I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving break. December is already here and we are almost half way through the school year! Time is flying by and your children have already grown so much, I can’t wait to see where they will be in just a few more months! Please, please, please remember that the weather is getting cooler. The children all need to bring coats and jackets that will keep them warm. Gloves and hats are also a great thing to have. We go outside as long as the weather is 28 degrees.

Themes:

Our themes for this month are animals, Winter and Winter Festivals

Literacy:

In literacy we are continuing to work on recognizing letters and the sounds that each letter makes. This month we will be working on letters S, F & H

Math:

In math we are working on Representing, counting and writing numbers 6-9

Science:

In science we will be doing fun experiments with our Winter STEAM Kit

January Newsletter

January 2025

I hope everyone had a great, rejuvenating winter break! I know I did! We are already half way through your child’s preschool year and they are thriving and learning so much. I am impressed more and more every day by their growth.

I wanted to say a sincere thank you to all of my parents who helped out with the holiday party. Thank you so much for all your planning and organizing!

Themes:

Literacy:

Letter formation, alphabetical order and story prediction.

Math:

Identify and write numbers 9 and 10, compare numbers to 5

Conferences:

We will be holding conferences on Jan 29th and 30th. These conferences are a mid-year check-in, and are rather informal. If you have questions or concerns about your child please find me and we will set up a time to meet. If you don’t have any questions please don’t worry and we will meet at the end of the year for the final conference. If I have any concerns about your child I will be reaching out to you.

Reminders:

Please remember that the kids go outside every day and the weather is always changing from morning recess to afternoon recess so if you could please pack warm jackets, gloves and a hat. Also, we have a lot of kiddos that buy lunch and there are lots of days when they would like ketchup. The school doesn’t provide the kids with that so if you would like to donate a bottle that would be fantastic.

February Newsletter

Dear KindiePrep Parents,

We are over half way through our school year and I could not be more proud of your children. We continue to work hard on accomplishing our goals, while learning and stretching our brains each day. Our Valentine’s Day party is right around the corner. It's Thursday February 13 from 1:45-2:45. We will be decorating Valentine bags in class. There are 12 students in our class. Please just have your child put who the Valentine is from. They will be passing out the Valentines during class before the party. (This way no one loses their bag). Parents are welcome to join or help volunteer for the games. Unfortunately I will be gone the day of the party because I will be going to my grandfather's funeral. I know that the room moms and Mrs. Armesy will be just fine handling the party.

Health and Nutrition, Valentine’s Day, Kindness Week 100’s Day and Presidents

Literacy:

Your child will practice writing and learning letters Ee, Bb, Ll and Rr. We will continue to practice writing and perfecting our first and last names with upper- and lower-case letters.

Math:

Continue to work on AB patterns and introduce AABB patterns. We Will also be counting, writing, and representing numbers 11-19.

Science:

Our FOSS kits for this month is Health/Nutrition

March Newsletter

Dear KindiePrep Parents,

Wow, March is already here! Spring break is right around the corner and hopefully spring is too! I think it’s safe to say the majority of us are over this cold and snowy winter. Please remember to have your child come with a coat each day. We do try to get out twice a day and, if it is windy the kids who only have a sweatshirt end up complaining the whole time. They must go outside with the class they are not able to stay in.

Themes:

Dr. Suess, St. Patrick's Day, Plants

Literacy:

We will continue with letters Uu, Ww, and Jj. We will also be working on syllables, and positional words.

Math:

We will be working on writing, counting and representing numbers to 20 and beyond. We will also start working on skip counting and looking at money.

Science:

We will be exploring oceans and the life cycle of reptiles/amphibians

Works of Art:

Dear KindiePrep Parents,

Spring is finally here! We are so excited the sun has come out, now if we can get the wind to stop. I cannot believe how much your children have grown both socially and academically. Please remind your child that the weather is also changing hour by hour so please bring a coat.

Themes:

Spring/Plants, Fairy Tales, Conservation and Earth Day

Literacy:

Start blending sounds to make words. Blending sounds with CVC words. Talk about when to use upper and lowercase letters.

Math:

Start working on addition and subtraction. Work on skip counting

Science:

Exploring our Trees and Plants kit.

American Academy

May Newsletter

Dear American Academy KindiePrep Parents,

It is officially the last month of school for your children! I can not believe that we are officially in May. What an honor it has been to be your child’s teacher this year! Please see the information below for the rest of our fun and busy end of the school year.

Our Classroom Learning:

LITERACY: We are currently reviewing the alphabet from A-Z. We are creating ABC books each day in literacy and are already almost halfway through.

MATH: In math we will talk about the coins (penny, nickel, dime, and quarter) and how much each is worth. As well, we are learning numbers to 100

THEME: Our themes for the rest of the school year are Habitats, Summer/Great Outdoors, and a final review week with lots of fun packed activities throughout!

Habitat Projects:

A habitat project information sheet will be sent home on Friday, in your child's folder. There you can find all the information regarding our habitat project. Your child chose an animal in class but will need to complete it at home. They will get to show these off to their other classmates and present them. All habitat projects must be turned in no later than May 8th or before. No late projects will be accepted as we have busy days following. If you have any questions please email me.

Last day of school:

On the last day of school, May 22nd there will be NO aftercare. Please have your child picked up no later than 3:15pm.
