Dear American Academy KindiePrep Parents,
Hello September! We made it through our first week back to school, woohoo! The children are settling in nicely and we’ve had an amazing start! Hopefully the weather will soon start to feel like fall!
What We Are Learning:
CKLA:
In September, we will begin learning to identify, trace, and write our first names. We will also begin learning the first letter sounds of the CKLA Curriculum: M, A, T and D.
Our themes for this month are All About Me, Our 5 Senses & Body Parts
Math:
We will begin the Go Math Curriculum. We will begin learning how to sort and classify data (color, shape, and size) as well as Supplemental Positions (above, below, in between, etc.). We will also begin learning how to count, write and represent numbers 0-5.
Reminders:
Arrival Time:
As a reminder, we begin our day at exactly 8:30am. Please try to have your child here before 8:30am so they have time to complete their morning work as well as be ready for the start of our Morning Meeting. We also need to get an accurate lunch count for the lunch people.
Red Folders: Red folders will go home every Friday with their work from the week. Please try and return them on Monday or Tuesday of the following week. The folders go in the tray on top of their mailboxes. Please make sure you take all of the papers out of their folder before returning it. The children work really hard on their assignments during the week and love to show all of it to you!
Check In/Out & Hot Lunch:
Please make sure you bring your phone in with you to scan the QR code that is on the side of the cubbies to check your child in/out for the day. Please also make sure that you are choosing hot lunch on the app if needed. If you have any issues with the SmartCare app, please make sure you stop by the KindiePrep Front Desk.
