Welcome to Ms. Hengsteler's Class!

August 2023

Dear KindiePrep Parents,

Welcome to KindiePrep at American Academy! My name is Ms. Hengsteler (or Ms. H.) and I will be your child’s KindiePrep teacher this year! I am excited to get to know your child and work with them as they develop a desire to learn.

I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Criminal Justice. My passion for teaching children about the world around us and helping them expand their minds has led me down this path to a career in education. I have a fraternal twin sister who just got married that lives in California and a younger brother who lives in Louisiana and works at a Nuclear Power Plant. I am excited to begin my seventh year of teaching KindiePrep here at American Academy. In my free time, I like to spend time with family and friends, watch the Colorado Avalanche, travel, and try new places to eat. I also love French Fries and Olaf.

Open House is tomorrow, Thursday August 17th from 4:30-6:00pm. You are welcome to come any time during that block of time. Both parents and your child are welcome to attend the Open House on Thursday, but if possible, please keep other siblings at home. This will be your time to see the school, meet the teacher (me), bring in school supplies/extra set of clothes, find student cubbies, Mand ask any last-minute questions you may have before school begins on Monday, August 21st.

Your child will also receive a blue tote bag at Open House that they will bring to school and take home on a daily basis. Please put your child's lunch, snack, water bottle, crib sheet, SMALL blanket, and extra clothes (shirt, pants, socks, and underwear) that follow dress code into their blue tote bag. Please, no stuffed animals, toys, or sleeping bags as everything has to fit inside that blue tote bag.

Please plan to check back on my webpage each month as I will be adding information throughout the year. This will keep you informed and updated about what kinds of things we are doing and learning in the classroom as well as any important dates.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need anything. I am looking forward to a great year with your children!

Warmly,

Ms. Hengsteler
