Board Election - Submit Interest by TOMORROW, April 25 for Open BOD/SAC Seat

This spring, the BOD has ONE seat and the SAC has ONE seat up for parent-electionElection day will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Every American Academy parent (KP-8) has one vote, and we hope you will use yours!

Below you'll find more information about the open seats, the election process for each group, and a link and instructions for applying for candidacy. We hope you will take the time to read about and consider applying for these important American Academy volunteer roles.

American Academy Board of Directors

There is one seat open on the Board of Directors beginning July 1, 2025, and will be a three-year position. (about the BOD)

The Board of Directors meets once a month for regularly scheduled meetings and their role is to uphold the mission, vision, and policies of the school as well as oversight of financial matters.

Qualified BOD candidates from all three campuses are invited to submit their interest via JotForm no later than Friday, April 25. In order to qualify to run for the Board of Directors, a candidate must first serve on the School Accountability Committee for at least one term as set forth in the American Academy Bylaws. Additional specific requirements for candidates are detailed in the Board Election Policy.

American Academy School Accountability Committee

There is one parent member position up for election on the SAC starting in September 2025, and will be a two-year term. (about the SAC)

The SAC meets monthly and is made up of parent-elected parent representatives, SAC-appointed parent representatives, one teacher representative from each campus (elected by AA teachers), administrator(s), and a business community representative (click here for the full list). 

Any interested SAC candidates must submit their interest via JotForm no later than Friday, April 25. Candidates from all three campuses are eligible and encouraged to run for election. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to join us at any SAC Meeting without being an official member.

Candidate info will be emailed to parents at the beginning of May. If you have any questions about the election process, please feel free to email the BEC. Thank you for participating in these important school elections!
