Board Election - Submit Interest by April 24 for Open BOD/SAC Seats

Election Day will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

This spring, there is one BOD seat and two SAC seats open for parent election. Every American Academy parent (KP–8) has one vote, and we encourage you to participate.

Below you’ll find more information about the open seats, the election process, and how to apply for candidacy. We hope you will consider getting involved in these important volunteer roles.

American Academy Board of Directors
There is one open seat on the Board of Directors beginning July 1, 2026. Elected members serve a three-year term. Learn more about the BOD.

The Board of Directors meets monthly and is responsible for upholding the school’s mission, vision, and policies, as well as overseeing financial matters. The Board is composed of elected and appointed current or former parent representatives.

Please submit BOD interest by Friday, April 24.

Parents from all three campuses are invited to apply. Per the American Academy Bylaws, candidates must have served at least two years on the School Accountability Committee. Additional requirements can be found in the Board Election Policy.

American Academy School Accountability Committee
There are two parent member positions open on the School Accountability Committee beginning September 2026. Elected members serve a two-year term. Learn more about the SAC.

The SAC meets monthly and includes elected and appointed parent representatives, one teacher representative from each campus, administrators, and a business community representative. Parents are welcome to attend SAC meetings at any time, even if not serving as a member.

Please submit SAC interest by Friday, April 24.
