Dear American Academy Parents,
LITERACY: We continue to practice how to identify, trace, and write our first names. We are also learning the first letter sounds of the Core Knowledge Language Arts Curriculum: /O/ /C/ /G/ and /I/. We will continue to review the sounds we have already learned in the Core Knowledge Language Arts Curriculum: /M/, /A/,/T/, and /D/.
MATH: We will continue on with our Go Math Curriculum. We have just finished up our teen numbers in February and will start number 20 in March. Our class continues to practice rote counting and counting by 5s, and 10s.
THEME: Habitats are in full swing as we learn about Oceans and the Savannah. We will continue to talk about all the animals that live there and characteristics of each habitat. Some fun nursery rhymes we will learn is At the Seaside and to Market to Market. Our Dramatic Play this month is an Aquarium where they can visit different aquatic habitats and take care of them.
Reminders:
Kindness/ Wish Week- March 9th-16th
Students can participate in themed dress-up days by donating $1 per day or $5 for the entire week. All proceeds will support classroom Change Wars, with friendly competition across KindiePrep classes. The highest-earning classroom pod will win an extra dress-of-choice day.
