KINDIEPREP ADMINISTRATION BREAKDOWN
It has been wonderful getting to know you and your children. We are all looking forward to the wonderful school year ahead of us. I wanted to take a moment to share some helpful information about our leadership structure at KindiePrep.
I oversee both KindiePrep locations at AA, which means I divide my time evenly between the two schools each week. If you need to speak with me and I am not at Lincoln Meadows that day, please feel free to email or call me, or reach out to Lissie to find out when I will next be at LM.
It is also important to know that Lissie manages all enrollment and ExtraCare matters for our program. If you have questions regarding your child’s current or future enrollment, or if you are interested in ExtraCare availability, please reach out directly to Lissie. She will be happy to assist you and provide the most up-to-date information.
We are always happy to help and want to make sure you know who to contact so your questions can be addressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
CARPOOL PROTOCOLS
It is so important that you follow all the carpool protocols to keep it running smoothly. I will be sending out a separate CARPOOL Protocol email. Please be on the lookout for it, read it thoroughly, and keep it handy as a reference.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE
Our first parent teacher conference of the year will be September 30th and October 1st. Teachers will be providing sign-ups soon. This is a great time to meet and discuss successes and concerns about your child. We encourage all families to try and attend.
RECORDINGS AND PHOTOS
I know many of you want to take pictures and videos of your students at school. We all want those memories. However, when taking pictures please make sure you are not getting other students in them, and we ask you to refrain from recording videos in the classroom. Some students' families have asked that they have limited to no media exposure, and we can’t verify where those videos will end up.
ROOM PARENTS AND CLASS FUNDS
I want to thank all the parents that have volunteered to be a Room Parent for their child’s classroom. The teachers and staff greatly appreciate the assistance you give them with parties, bulletin boards, and all the other things you assist with throughout the year. If you are still interested in helping please reach out to your child’s teacher; as we have a couple of classrooms that still need help. Also, every year the PTO/Room parents ask for classroom funds donation to help cover the cost of the classroom parties and other activities throughout the school year. If you are able, please make your
classroom funds donation here.
AFTERCARE
Our aftercare program runs from 3:10pm – 5:30pm. (Reminder - if children are not picked up by 3:10pm they will be put in extra-care and you will be charged $18.00 for their care plus a $25 late pick-up fee.) We will also call to inquire about your pick-up plan. (Extracare is not a drop-in service. Families must sign their children up to attend extracare.) All students must be picked up by 5:30pm. If you arrive after 5:30pm you will be charged a $50 late pick up fee. If you know you are going to be late please call 720-292-5400 to let the aftercare staff know when to expect you. (Also, if you arrive at 5:30pm or later please be considerate and move quickly to pack up your student. The staff is tired and ready to go home after a full day of school.)
HEALTH APPRAISALS AND SHOT RECORDS
We are required by the CDEC to maintain an up-to-date health appraisal and shot record for each child. Please make sure to get an updated appraisal at your child’s next appointment and bring it to or email it to Lissie Stapleton. Lissie does send out reminders before it is due, so if you get one of those it’s time to make an appointment. (A picture of the document does not work. We need a scanned/hard copy.)
SPIRIT GEAR VS DRESS OF CHOICE FRIDAY’S
Friday's are Spirit Gear Days here at AA and in KindiePrep. This means the children need to wear their navy-blue bottoms, but they can wear an American Academy spirit shirt. These shirts can be found in the Spirit Gear Store or they can be t-shirts the children receive from the school for special events like 20 year celebrations or Field Day! Except, the last Friday of every month is a Dress of Choice day which means the children have the option to wear any school appropriate outfit. (See Dress Code Policy for Dress of Choice guidelines)
FROM THE PTO: STOCK THE LOUNGE INFO
At LM we do Stock the Teacher Lounge for the entire school off one Signup. This signup has every month on it and will be the same link that takes you to the Signup I will adjust throughout the year as needed. We have PTO Volunteers that fill the lounges twice a month. We fill the main lounge first, then we will come fill the KP fridge if we have supplies left.

KINDIEPREP HOURS
The KindiePrep school day hours are from 8:30am to 2:55pm. It is important for your child to be at school on time. Students arriving at school on time have the advantage of settling in, preparing their class materials, and focusing their minds on the day to come. Being late can also cause children to miss important information for the day. The doors to KindiePrep open at 8:15am giving families 15 minutes to get their student signed in and settled for the day.
In the afternoon families have from 2:55pm to 3:10pm to pick up their children, unless they are signed up for extra-care. If children are not picked up by 3:10pm they will be put in extra-care and you will be charged $18.00 for their care plus a $25 late fee. We will also call to inquire about your pick-up plan. (Extracare is not a drop-in service. Families must sign their children up to attend extra-care.)
EXTRACARE
We offer a before and after school program for those families that need more care than 8:30am to 2:55pm each day. Our morning program runs from 7:00am – 8:15am, and our aftercare program runs from 3:10pm – 5:30pm. If you would like to utilize this program you will need to fill out a calendar each month and turn it in to Assistant Director Lissie Stapleton. Calendars can be found in the KP front office. The August and September calendars can be found on the KindiePrep website. You can fill them out and turn them in at Rebel, Set, Go!, Meet the Teacher Event, or after school begins. FYI, we do have limited space, so extra-care will be filled on a first come first serve basis. (5 full day families that purchased the package deal do not need to fill out a calendar, and those students are first on the list.)
KINDIEPREP DRESS CODE
If you have questions about the dress code please review the KindiePrep Dress Code Policy. We will be checking for dress code compliance, and you will be notified if your child is out of compliance. The last Friday of every month is a Dress of Choice day which means the children have the option to wear any school appropriate outfit. (See Dress Code Policy) All other Fridays are Spirit days. This means the children need to wear their navy-blue bottoms, but they can wear an American Academy spirit shirt. These shirts can be found in the Spirit Gear Store or they can be t-shirts the children receive from the school for special events like Fun Run, Field Day, 20th Celebrations, etc.
FOOD AT SCHOOL
I always like to remind families about our Food at School policy at the beginning of the school year. We have these rules in place for the health and safety of our students.
REMEMBER – If carpool is actively moving when you arrive you must go through carpool. You cannot skip or go around carpool - EVER!
