October 2023 News!

Wow, it’s October already! I have loved getting to know all the children and families and learning about them! Just as a reminder: Kindie Prep will be starting late on 10/10. Doors will open at 9:15 and classes will start at 9:30. There will be NO Before Care. See below for more information. **

Parent/Teacher Conferences are the evening of October 11th and 12^th. Please make sure to reserve your time slot on the clip board outside the classroom. I’m looking forward to meeting with all of you.

The monthly themes are Fall, Community Helpers, and Force, Motion and Magnets.  We will also be reading and discussing the book “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” Art themes that will be focused on are “Broadway Boogie Woogie”.  The children will be creating an abstract line drawing. Important People we will discuss this month are the Wright Brothers. We will begin learning the letters, M, I and U. Math will focus on shapes, counting and writing numbers 6 & 7.

Important Reminders:

1. Every Friday children will bring home their completed work, work to finish at home and/or important papers in their red folders.  Please keep the items located on the right of the folder and look through and talk about the right side of the folder.  The folders should then be returned the following Monday.
2. Smart care- Please make sure you are checking your child in during morning drop-off and out again at dismissal.
3. Classroom reminders- Please bring ONE snack and a water bottle clearly marked with their names. If they attend aftercare they need two snacks (one for am and one for aftercare)
4. Please do not forget to mark YES (or use an X) if your child needs a hot lunch for the day on the clipboard on top of the cubbies!

Cold weather is arriving soon, please bring a sweatshirt or jacket to leave in their cubbies. 

Thank you for having a change of clothes in your child’s cubby, we do need to ask you to also include an empty plastic bag for us to put the wet clothes in (it can be a “grocery” type bag or a gallon size Ziploc.)

Saturday, October 28^th – Trunk or Treat, LM Parking lot. 1 – 4 pm
