November 2023 News!

Welcome to November! We have had a great time in October and are looking forward to November! You should have received a Scholastic Book form in your child’s red folder last week.  The deadline for ordering is November 24^th (online). The Class group photo will be done on Thursday, November 2^nd . The school dress code is required.

Thanksgiving Break is November 20^th-24^th.

The monthly themes are Birds, Native Americans and Pilgrims.  We will also be reading and discussing the book “The Lion and the Mouse.” Art themes we will be focused on are “The Little Dancer“ (Degas) and The Old Stagecoach” (Johnathan Johnson).  The Important Person we will discuss this month is Sacagawea. We will begin learning the letters C, O and A. Math will focus on numbers 8, 9 and 10.

Important Reminders:

1. Every Friday children will bring home their completed work, work to finish at home and/or important papers in their red folders.  Please keep the items located on the right of the folder and look through and talk about the right side of the folder.  The folders should then be returned the following Monday.
2. Smart care- Please make sure you are checking your child in during morning drop-off and out again at dismissal.
3. Classroom reminders- Please bring ONE snack and a water bottle clearly marked with their names. If they attend aftercare they need two snacks (one for am and one for aftercare)
4. Please do not forget to mark YES (or use an X) if your child needs a hot lunch for the day on the clipboard on top of the cubbies!

Cold/Snowy weather has arrived, please make sure your child has a winter coat on cold days as we will go out to recess.  Hats, gloves, and boots are very important as well.

Thank you for having a change of clothes in your child’s cubby, we do need to ask you to also include an empty plastic bag for us to put the wet clothes in (it can be a “grocery” type bag or a gallon size Ziploc.)

Friday, November 10^th – KindiePrep Veteran’s Day Activities. PreK will NOT attend the breakfast.

                  Spirit Day – Any Veterans Day red, white or blue Americana top with uniform bottoms. 

Friday, November 10^th – End of Grading Period

Friday, November 17th – Dress of Choice Day

November 20^th-24th – Thanksgiving Break

Friday, November 24^th – Scholastic Book Orders Due (online)

Friday, December 1^st – Spirit Day
